Melissa Hempel

Melissa Hemple is our Program Director. Melissa is a Registered Addiction Specialist and Certified Anger Management Facilitator. In addition to completing the SASSI training through through the SASSI Institute, Melissa is a member of The California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. Melissa has experience working in many areas of the chemical dependency field including detox, residential, outpatient, adolescent, working with older adults and individuals with co-occurring disorders. Melissa has been working in the chemical dependency field since 2002.

Jan Frankenberger

Jan Franenberger is our Lead Chemical Dependency Counselor. Jan is a Registered Recovery Worker and has a Bachelor of Arts in both Social Psychology and Urban Studies. Jan is a member of The California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. Jan is our agency's Proposition 36 and Adult Drug Dependency Court liaison. Jan has been working in the chemical dependency field since 2002.

Maris Sanford

Maris Sanford is our Adolescent Counselor and as a Breining graduate, she is a Registered Addiction Specialist intern. She has had continuous experience with chemical dependency and recovery issues since 1988. In addition to facilitating both adult and adolescent educational groups since 2001, she has counseled adults in residential treatment since 2004.
